KENNY SCHARF'S WORLD
(c) 1995
running time: 28 minutes

This program explores the sometimes surreal, always fascinating, inner landscape of a young American painter. Kenny Scharf, part of the 1980's irreverent post-pop tradition, continues to exhibit ever changing work which incorporates themes as diverse as ecology, consumer culture, nuclear annihilation and the Jetsons. A superb draftsman and beautiful painter, Kenny continues to defy categorization. Included are Scharf's 1984, 1991 and 1994 exhibitions at the Shafrazi Gallery and interviews with KENNY SCHARF, art critic-curator DAN CAMERON and dealer TONY SHAFRAZI.
